Fear Not

Fear Not “A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. His height was six cubits and a span. He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels; on his legs he wore bronze greaves, and a bronze javelin was slung on his back. His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels. His shield bearer went ahead of him. Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me. If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.” Then the Philistine said, “This day I defy the armies of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other.” On hearing the Philistine’s words, Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed [confused] and terrified.” (1 Samuel 17:4-11) In the above scripture everyone was terrified and confused when they saw Goliath and heard his threats. However if you keep reading in the story when David saw him, he was ready to fight and kill him. How is it that David was not fearful. It was because of his routine. “And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.” (1 Samuel 18:14-15 KJV) My freinds we can quote scriptures and pray at the drop of a hat but if our everyday routine is not balanced, we are going to fear when the unexpected shows up. "Not a sermon, just a thought."

If you have a strong faith in our Lord, there's nothing you should fear about. I'm also familiar with the story of David and Goliath from the Christian's Bible. David is a servant of God and a young shepherd who later becomes the king of Israel. While Goliath from the Bible story, which is a giant and a trained warrior, is killed by David with a stone when he was a young boy. The story used to describe a situation where a small or a weak can defeat a much larger and stronger opponent if he or she has a strong faith in our God.
